2014 UW System Board of Regents Diversity Awards

The UW-Whitewater campus community is invited to submit nominations/applications for the 2014 UW System Board of Regents Diversity Awards. The purpose of this award is to recognize institutional change agents who have established a successful record in fostering greater access and success for students who are members of historically underrepresented populations (including African Americans, American Indians, Latinos/Hispanics, Asian Americans, and Southeast Asians), first-generation and/or economically disadvantaged. By recognizing the exceptional impact these change agents have had on institutional life, this award affirms the Board of Regents' and UW System Administration’s strong commitment to diversity, equity, and excellence.

One award will be made in each of the three categories – individual, team, and institution/unit. These award funds are designated to provide individual professional development for awardees and support for continuing programmatic activities. Award funds are contingent upon employment within UW System and continuing institutional support for the program awarded. Winners will be publicly recognized at the Board of Regents meeting on Feb. 6 or 7, 2014 in Madison.

Up to three awards of $5,000 each will be made to individuals, programs, and/or institutional units in recognition of their exceptional efforts in fostering greater equity and diversity across their institutions and communities.

Applications should be submitted electronically to Elizabeth Ogunsola, Office of Affirmative Action & Diversity, by 4 p.m., Monday, Oct. 14, 2013, for review by the Chancellor’s Office in order to meet the Office of Equity, Diversity & Inclusion deadline of Monday, Oct. 21, 2013.
