The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater encourages and supports free and responsible investigation by faculty, staff, and students. The policies and procedures of the Institutional Review Board for the Protection of Human Subjects (IRB) have been developed to protect the rights and welfare of participants in research. Campus policies, procedures and forms can be accessed from the [link destination=" http://uwworsp.org/Portals/uwworsp/Compliance/IRB/IRB_GUIDE%2010312013.pdf" text="IRB GUIDE"] on the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs' Compliance Web.
Research projects that involve human subjects will require review by the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater IRB to determine if faculty/staff have employed adequate measures to protect the participants involved in a study.
ONLY protocols requiring full board review (MORE THAN MINIMAL RISK) must be submitted in accord with posted deadline below. Protocols which qualify for review as expedited or exempt from further IRB oversight (minimal risk) may be submitted at any time.
*Submit protocols by April 7, 2014, for review at the April 15, 2014, full board meeting.
All protocols must be submitted to the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs. Additional questions regarding research with human subjects and/or the IRB should be directed to:
