The SECC (Statewide Employees Combined Campaign) is a workplace giving campaign that offers you the opportunity to donate to one or more of the more than 400 charities that participate via payroll contribution, check or cash. Giving through your work place is as easy as ever! The campaign runs through Nov. 30.
To those of you who have already given, thank you. If you haven’t made a pledge, there is no better time than now. Not sure how much to give? See below for examples of what several dollars a month can do:
• $1 a month buys canned vegetables for a child for two months. (Hunger Relief Fund of Wisconsin –administered by Hunger Task Force, Inc.)
• $5 a month helps pay for staff at Wisconsin Family Ties who work intently with parents of children with mental health issues, prompting one mom to say, "I am starting to see the light of hope again." (Community Shares)
• $10 per month covers the cost of a crew to conduct a prescribed burn on one acre at a State Natural Area. (Wisconsin Environmental Education Fund).
• $25 a month buys 36 brake pads for a plane (each plane needs 8) to deliver life-saving supplies (Neighbor to Nation)
