The Chancellor’s Office has received word that Donald K. Zahn, 73, died on Nov. 20, 2015. Don came to UW-Whitewater in August of 1978, and taught various business courses, started up a computer lab, developed the online MBA program, and served as assistant dean and later associate dean of the College of Business and Economics. He also served as project manager during the construction of Timothy J. Hyland Hall. He retired in August 2011 after 33 years of service.
Don was a lifetime member of the UW-Whitewater Optimist Club, and a loyal Warhawk football fan.
Memorials may be made to the family for the establishment of a Dr. Zahn scholarship fund for Whitewater high school students wishing to pursue a degree in business from UW-Whitewater.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 23, at Nitardy Funeral Home, 550 N. Newcomb St., Whitewater, and after 10 a.m. on Tuesday until the time of the services at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 24, at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1225 W. Main St., Whitewater, with Rev. David Emmrich and Deacon Hector Villarreal officiating.
The campus flag will be lowered to half-staff on Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2015, in his honor.
