Last year 44 UW-Whitewater employees contributed a total of $7,920 to United Way of Jefferson and North Walworth Counties (UWJNWC). The goal for 2017 is to increase our number of donors to 75 and our contributions to $12,000.
I know employees already donate their time and resources to several organizations, and that in the wake of the destruction from this hurricane season, many people are in need. Through United Way’s local partnerships and volunteers, however, any contribution can go a long way towards supporting our agencies and programs. To see what United Way has done to strengthen our communities, watch the new video by UW-Whitewater student Sean Ledvina on the [link destination="http://www.uwjnwc.com" text="UWJNWC home page"].
Pledge forms are available from me, or can be accessed at [link destination="http://bit.ly/UW2017Pledge" text="bit.ly/UW2017Pledge"]. Strategic impact areas and programs are listed on the lower half of the form, and local partners are listed on the back. Be sure to complete the “My Impact” section to indicate how you want your contributions to be used. Any new gift of at least $25 automatically enters you into the technology drawing. Four entries will be drawn for one of four prizes: a laptop, an iPad, a high definition TV, and a Kindle Fire. In addition, any new gift of at least $40 enters you into the drawing for a free UW-Whitewater parking permit for July 1, 2018 – June 30, 2019.
Please return your completed pledge form to my attention at CoBE Business Outreach, Hyland Hall 4300J. Each donor who submits a completed pledge form for at least $30 by 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 6 will receive a Live United T-shirt with the UW-Whitewater logo printed on the sleeve to wear on Friday, Oct. 20 for Whitewater’s Live United Day.
You can also support United Way through volunteering or advocacy. For volunteer opportunities in Jefferson County and Whitewater, visit [link destination="http://www.volunteermain.com" text="volunteermain.com"], or spread the word about United Way’s impact by sharing Sean Ledvina’s video with friends and colleagues.
Thank you in advance for your generosity.
