Appointments named: Interim Associate Provost and Special Assistant to the Provost
I am pleased to announce two appointments in the Office of the Provost. Kristin Plessel has been appointed to serve as an interim associate provost, effective July 15, 2019. Dr. Plessel is currently an associate professor and interim department chair of the Department of Integrated Studies, and she has significant experience serving as the coordinator of academic assessment for the UW Colleges, serving on several committees related to the Whitewater and Rock County restructuring, and as a national leader in inquiry-based student learning (POGIL). Angela Harlan has been appointed to serve as special assistant to the provost to guide development of undergraduate curriculum. Dr. Harlan is an associate professor and department chair in mathematics, and she currently serves as the chair of the University Curriculum Committee on behalf of the Provost’s Office.
Please join me in welcoming Dr. Plessel and Dr. Harlan to their new leadership roles.
Best,
Greg Cook, Ph.D.
Interim Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs
