Get involved with the Great Cleanup!
Dear Campus Colleagues,
Your colleagues in Administrative Affairs would like to assist you in organizing your areas before the start of the academic year. Dubbed "The Great Cleanup," this effort is a campus-wide venture to improve safety, reduce waste, repurpose items, and create more usable space. The cleanup will take place Aug. 19-23.
And it’s easy. Take a look in your department’s storage areas for any items that you are no longer using. We need to make sure we properly dispose of items like unused cleaning supplies, chemicals, and old air conditioners. Other items such as outdated marketing materials such as T-shirts, pens, pins, or other swag items, and office supplies no longer needed can be recycled or reused. These are just a few of the items you may find in your storage areas.
Next, take the items to Facilities, Planning and Management offices on Fremont Street. The staff and students at FP&M will sort it all and reusable items will be available to campus at no cost.
Any chemicals, paint, cleaners or other hazardous waste should be delivered to FP&M by noon on Thursday, Aug. 22. Other items will be accepted through Friday, Aug. 23.
Attached to this email you will find a document with more information. Here is a link to a helpful video as well >>
I hope you’ll participate in this effort.
Sincerely,
Grace Crickette
Vice Chancellor for Administrative Affairs
