Dear Faculty and Instructional Staff,
In these unprecedented times, you have been charged with Herculean tasks of transforming your classroom experience to a virtual one. I know this is not an easy ask that has been made of you. I understand how much time, effort and work this is taking. Thank you. Thank you for caring so deeply about our students.
As I said in our message to campus, I understand that some of you are also caring for children or other family members. None of this is easy and yet, you are making it happen. I am humbled by your dedication and hard work.
As stewards of place, I know you will provide our students with an outstanding experience. There will be bumps along the way. Be kind to yourself and remind yourself that you are doing the best you can in a trying situation. Your department colleagues will stand with you, as will your dean, your provost and your chancellor. Indeed, “We are even better together.”
We are a campus that has thrived for more than 150 years. We will continue to flourish well into the future. Your contribution to this success includes the positive interactions you have with our students. In keeping with our strong reputation as a university family, we encourage you to connect with our students instructionally, and personally via text, email and phone calls.
Thank you for all that you are doing to focus on our students’ success. I appreciate each of you.
Sincerely,
Dr. Dwight C. Watson
Chancellor
