Welcome Back Week
Dear Warhawks:
Welcome to the 2020-2021 academic year! I hope you had an enjoyable summer. We are working diligently to relieve some of the stress and provide you with opportunities to learn and work in the safest and healthiest environment possible given the ever-changing dynamics of the COVID-19 pandemic.
As we prepare to welcome back students, we invite you to attend virtual workshops. The schedule of events is located on the Welcome Back Week webpage. I especially want to mention our Welcome Back Town Hall at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 19. I am looking forward to discussing the return to campus. If you have questions regarding the return to campus please submit them to cainen@uww.edu no later than noon on Monday, Aug. 17. Links for those town halls can be found on the schedule and a reminder will be sent closer to the date of the event.
I also want to mention the workshop, “Teaching During a Pandemic: Challenges and Ideas” sponsored by the LEARN Center. The workshop – presented by Interim Provost Greg Cook – is scheduled to begin virtually at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 25. I also encourage you to review the ICIT Technology Open House featuring latest technology tools, services and resources designed to help students, faculty and staff succeed at UW-Whitewater. This year’s event will run through the week of Aug. 24 - 28 and will be completely virtual.
I look forward to our Welcome Back Town Hall on Wednesday, Aug. 19, and I hope you take advantage of the workshops and events the entire week—beginning on Monday, Aug. 17. It will certainly be worth your while to attend as many events as possible.
Together, we can help UW-Whitewater to continue to move forward.
We Are Better Together,
Dr. Dwight C. Watson
Chancellor
