Help with recycling and trash removal from offices, workrooms and conference rooms
To maintain safe, sanitary spaces to work and learn during the COVID-19 pandemic, custodians will be taking on additional workloads, including disinfecting high-touch surfaces, checking PPE supplies in classrooms, and restroom cleaning twice a day.
To help create more time for this important work and to respect people’s private office spaces to encourage social distancing, we are asking the campus community to help us with some of that burden. Starting in the fall semester, smaller trash cans in office suites, including rooms such as personal offices, conference rooms, work rooms, and break rooms will need to be serviced by occupants of the offices or office suites.
You are welcome to continue using small, personal trash and recycle cans as long as you are willing to empty it yourself into the larger common area bins, which will be checked daily, or directly to trash and recycling dumpsters outside the building. Classrooms will continue to offer small trash cans for sanitizing stations, which are serviced regularly by custodians. Food service and restrooms will continue regular service levels.
If you have feedback on any additional trash cans or pickups we may need to add to your area, please contact Director of Buildings and Grounds, Eric Radkowsky, at email@example.com.
