Veterans Recognition Week Nov. 9-13
The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater pauses to celebrate Veteran’s Day 2020. The national theme is “Vision: Veterans in Focus." The university acknowledges the brave sacrifices these individuals have made physically, emotionally and mentally from the taxation of what being a solider means. We stand in agreement with their families as these brave men and women have fought to ensure the freedoms of our nation.
As a university community, we pause and acknowledge the tremendous debt we owe our veterans for their service. We are pleased to pay special attention to this great population of Americans who continue to strive to embody the true American spirit.
In recognition of veterans and military service members, UW-Whitewater has several in-person and virtual activities planned.
- The University Center and Warhawk Alley sponsor free bowling, billiards and recreation for veterans and service members Nov. 9-13. For more information, call Warhawk Alley: (262) 472-1164 or email: WarhawkAlley@uww.edu.
- Tie a ribbon to the Honor Trees located in the University Center at the Whitewater campus or in Hyatt Smith Hall on the Rock County campus as a silent way to show appreciation to those affected by past and present wars.
- The university will host a virtual Veterans Day ceremony on Wednesday, Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. We have numerous special guests that will be joining us. More information can be found on this website.
Again, UW-Whitewater is proud to have earned the Military Friendly status for our campus and look forward to continue educating our veterans and their families.
