Message from Dean of Students Office
With spring here, people returning from Spring Break and graduation just around the corner, we are reminding students of the safety protocols that must be followed in order to finish the semester strong. Specifically, masking, practicing personal hygiene and social distancing must be adhered to now more than ever as part of our Warhawk Social Covenant. Remember to get your COVID-19 tests as required, and avoid large groups and gatherings. Please strongly consider the vaccine as another way to do your part.
It is easy to become complacent, especially when our current numbers of positive cases are so low. However, as we learned in the fall, those numbers can quickly change if individuals ignore safety protocols.
The warm weather and end of semester may provide a temptation to host or participate in large gatherings. This is a reminder that any behavior that can jeopardize the safety of your peers, the campus, or the greater Whitewater community is simply not acceptable. The consequences are too great. Individuals found to be hosting parties or gatherings, and others who refuse to adhere to the safety protocols, will find themselves engaged in the university disciplinary process.
We recognize that this is a challenging time, especially if you are managing additional issues related to your health, wellbeing or family lives. Please know we are here to support you. If you or someone you know is in need of support, you can fill out a CARE Team reporting form: https://www.uww.edu/dean-of-students/reporting-forms#care-team-reporting-form.
The choices are yours. The consequences are yours as well. If you choose to celebrate spring, please do so safely and only with members of your immediate household. We appreciate your willingness to abide by the university’s COVID-19 compliance requirements in the Warhawks Return Plan. Let’s finish this academic year together safely and strongly.
