HawkCards and gender pronouns
During spring 2021, University Governance approved updating UW-Whitewater’s preferred name policy to also include gender pronouns. This was an important step to continue fostering an inclusive campus culture that values self-expression and respect for the variety of communities the university serves.
New this semester: Students have the option to add their gender pronouns on Canvas and WINS. During the month of October, in honor of LGBTQ History Month, students can exchange their current HawkCard for one that includes gender pronouns for free.
Here is how you can participate:
Students can go to their profile page on WINS, edit their biographic details, select their preferred pronouns from a drop-down menu, and save that information. Students can pick up one free HawkCard exchange 48 hours later at the HawkCard Office in the University Center 250.
