UW-Whitewater associate vice chancellor for academic affairs named
The Office of the Provost at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater announces the appointment of Kristin Plessel as the associate vice chancellor for academic affairs. Plessel has served the University of Wisconsin System in academic and leadership roles since 2008. Since April 2019, she has served as the interim associate vice chancellor for academic affairs.
“Kristin Plessel is a leader committed to the success of our students, faculty and staff. In her interim role, she has worked collaboratively with programs and units across the Whitewater and Rock County campuses, moving us forward in our academic, personnel and student success initiatives,” said Robin Fox, interim provost. “I am so pleased that Dr. Plessel has accepted the permanent position. She is and will continue to be a great asset to UW-Whitewater.”
Plessel has earned three degrees in chemistry — a B.S. with high distinction from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and an M.S. and Ph.D. from UW-Madison. She will assume the new role on May 23, 2022.
