Chancellor Search has launched
UW-Whitewater Community,
On behalf of the search and screen committee, we’re pleased to inform you that the search for UW-Whitewater’s next chancellor is well underway. Our group is energized and excited about helping to recommend an outstanding leader to move the Whitewater and Rock County campuses forward.
This message is to provide you with an update regarding what we have accomplished so far and what the next steps in the process look like.
Recruitment efforts
Our search consultants from the national search firm of Isaacson, Miller, have started the process of contacting candidates who have been nominated by others as well as actively recruiting prospective candidates.
Many of us have broad professional and personal networks that likely include potential candidates who would be a good fit for our university and our community. Please consider reaching out to individuals in your network and inviting them to apply. We also invite you to nominate individuals whom you believe the committee should consider for chancellor of UW-Whitewater by providing names and information via the online form: https://www.imsearch.com/search-detail/8555.

Feedback on the search
Even before we begin reviewing candidates and selecting finalists to visit, your feedback is critical. We are eager to hear from individuals within the UW-Whitewater community concerning thoughts and ideas that can benefit this search. There will be a variety of ways to contribute:
- From August through September, all of the colleges and administrative units plan to include feedback collection during their fall forum or scheduled unit meeting.
- Once the fall semester begins, an online questionnaire will be distributed to faculty, staff, students, and college advisory board members.
- We will be hosting two public listening sessions early in September so that members of our community can share their thoughts, ideas, and recommendations with the search committee. Additional communications will be sent out once days/times are confirmed.
Review of applicants and on-site visits
The search and screen committee will begin reviewing applications in September, and anticipates reviewing applications through October. We are on track to conduct our preliminary interviews in late October, with the goal of having finalists visit UW-Whitewater in December, before winter commencement. There will be additional opportunities to provide feedback on the finalists.
