Message from Chancellor Chenoweth on Healthbot wellness station
Dear Faculty and Staff,
Earlier this month, I had the opportunity to test some new technology in the University Center — the Healthbot wellness station. Located next to the staircase leading up to the Student Activities and Involvement area, the station allows you to check your blood pressure, heart rate, body mass index (BMI) and weight. It’s easy to use and takes just a few minutes.
You can create a free, confidential account to monitor and track your personal health stats over time, or just try the machine as a guest. You can watch an overview video here.
Overall wellness is a priority for UW-Whitewater. Our goal in introducing this technology is to give our employees the information they need to make informed decisions to be healthy and to thrive.
This was a true cross-department collaboration that I’m pleased to endorse. I’d like to thank Stephanie Hartmann in Human Resources and Diversity for securing a grant to make the purchase of the Healthbot possible. Josh Filer in Facilities Planning and Management was instrumental in the delivery and installation of the machine. Jay Craggs in the University Center coordinated the technology connections. Reed Dessart in University Marketing and Communications created the art design.
I hope you will give the Healthbot wellness station a try. Be well, Warhawks!
John Chenoweth, Ed.D.
Interim Chancellor
