Campus offices closed to public Friday, Nov. 25
Last year we tried something new. Recognizing our campuses are quieter the day after Thanksgiving, we decided to close many of our offices that Friday. This gave more employees a chance to work remotely, work on campus in a quieter environment, or take scheduled time off knowing that office coverage wouldn’t be an issue in most cases.
After we tried this, the feedback was overwhelmingly positive and it is clear to me we should do this again.
Therefore, our offices at both the Whitewater and Rock County campuses will be closed to the public on Friday, Nov. 25, the day after Thanksgiving. While we have some services that must be maintained, I’m asking all supervisors to provide the greatest latitude to their teams in scheduling that day. I hope this will afford you the chance to work remotely, work from a quieter campus office, or take some scheduled time off with less pressure to staff an open door.
