Starting Thursday, November 17, employees will authenticate with Multi-Factor Authentication using Duo to access Canvas. These few extra seconds at login effectively and drastically reduce risk. If an unauthorized user gained access to Canvas, they could change grades, alter assignments, delete course content, or submit harmful announcements. They could access student information or send students emails requesting sensitive information. We realize this extended use of MFA is an adjustment for employees, so mid-November was chosen to minimize the impact during hectic times like early in the semester and the end-of-semester rush.
