Hello Faculty and Instructional Academic Staff,
The first day of classes brings a special energy to our campus as students fill our classrooms, eager to continue their academic journeys.
I’m excited to announce the opening of the Whitewater campus’s new 'One Stop' in room 129 of the University Center. Not unlike the Rock County campus’s Solution Center, this space is dedicated to student success, offering support for financial aid, course registration, advising, and more. We’ve included a PowerPoint slide for you to use in your classrooms and Canvas sites to help spread the word.
Please keep an eye out in the Warhawk Weekly for details about guest speaker Peter Felten, who will be visiting campus to discuss topics related to his book Relationship-Rich Education. His insights on how human connections drive student success are invaluable, and I encourage you to attend.
Finally, I want to remind you about the 2024-25 UWW Teaching and Learning grants, which this year support projects on civil discourse and the use of generative AI in student learning. I encourage you to consider applying.
I recognize that this moment may bring a mix of emotions for many of us. The return of students to our classrooms is always a time of renewal and anticipation, though recent events remind us of the importance of community and care. Thank you for your commitment and the value you add every day. I wish you all a meaningful and successful year ahead.
