Hello Future Undergraduate Research Program (URP) and Research Apprenticeship Program (RAP) Students!
Welcome to the 2024-25 Academic Year!
The Research Apprenticeship Program (RAP) provides eligible students with an hourly paid research opportunity (work study can apply) to assist faculty/staff mentors with their research projects for up to 125 hours in one academic year. This program is meant to expose students to research through a mentored apprenticeship in the first or second year of their academic degree.
If you have less than 72 credits, (must have freshman or sophomore status) or if you are a new transferred student to campus, you qualify! The program is designed as an introduction to research work — to help you figure out if research is a passion of yours. You might spend time interviewing people, analyzing data, creating art, working in a lab, brainstorming with faculty and peers, creating a program/game, building a prototype, or reviewing literature in your field... and the list goes on. Applications are due Friday, September 13, 2024.
And did we mention:
- you get paid hourly for your time (up to 125 hours over the course of the academic year)
- the program is flexible and fits easily into your academic schedule
- you can build your resume and skills
- you can explore research and creative interests
- you can use work study
