I am reaching out to share updates and resources regarding federal policies that may impact our campus community. As part of the Universities of Wisconsin (UWs) Federal Updates Working Group, our institution remains engaged in tracking developments and ensuring timely communication. Amid the continuous flow of information, we remain committed to our mission of pursuing knowledge, driving innovation, and transforming lives.
Where to Find Information
An informational website, Federal Updates, has been created to provide timely updates and communications from the Universities of Wisconsin Administration.
Clarification on Executive Orders
Executive Orders are not laws but rather directives for federal agencies to take specific actions. These actions can be legally challenged, and we are already seeing this process unfold in response to recent Executive Orders affecting the Universities of Wisconsin. Final outcomes will be determined through the courts.

If you have questions about how these updates may impact your work, please connect with supervisors, deans, or unit administrators, who will elevate issues as appropriate so we can navigate together. We remain committed to addressing any necessary changes thoughtfully, within the bounds of the law, and in alignment with our mission and core values.

I understand that these developments may raise questions, and uncertainty remains in some areas. The Federal Updates Working Group and colleagues across the UWs are committed to providing factual, timely information and supporting our campus community. If any policy or operational changes are necessary, we will communicate them clearly and directly as required.
