Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship
The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP) along with Undergraduate Research Program (URP) would like to announce that the applications for the 2025-2026 Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) is now open.
This summer program is for individual students working on a scholarly project that involves research, creative activity, or innovative process. The student must have a 3.0 GPA and plan to be enrolled for the full academic year of 2025-2026. The student must also have a faculty mentor to oversee the project from start to finish. Students, if you have a project idea but no mentor in mind, please reach out for help at urp@uww.edu.
SURF is a grant that begins in the summer of 2025 and then continues through the 2025-2026 academic year. Students awarded will receive a $5,000 stipend over the summer months and a $1,000 budget line for project travel and/or supplies. The mentor of the project will receive a $2,500 stipend for the summer. For this round of applications we plan on awarding at least 4 SURF projects.
