Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs named
Dear UW-Whitewater campus community,
I am pleased to announce that Kristin Fillhouer has been selected as our next vice chancellor for student affairs following a national search process. Kristin has served as interim vice chancellor since January 16, 2024, and in that time, she has provided exceptional leadership, particularly in reimagining Student Affairs to enhance student success and engagement. She will begin the permanent role on Monday, March 31.
Kristin brings more than 20 years of experience in higher education. She is deeply committed to ensuring students have the resources, experiences, and support needed to thrive. Her leadership is student-centered, collaborative, and focused on building a strong, inclusive, and engaged campus community.
Prior to stepping into the interim role, Kristin served as associate dean for student affairs and enrollment management at the Rock County campus, overseeing key areas such as academic support, advising, registration, orientation, student mental health services, accessibility services, enrollment management, financial aid, student conduct, and student life. She played an instrumental role in the successful integration of UW-Rock County into UW-Whitewater and has been a steady and collaborative leader in advancing student support services.
A dedicated Warhawk, Kristin earned both her bachelor’s degree in history and master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from UW-Whitewater. In 2023, she was recognized as the Forward Janesville Educator of the Year for her outstanding contributions to student success.
I want to express my appreciation to the search committee for their thoughtful and thorough work in this process. Thank you as well to all faculty, staff, and students who participated in the search and provided valuable feedback.
Please join me in congratulating Vice Chancellor Fillhouer on this well-earned appointment. I look forward to her continued leadership and the positive impact she will have on our students and campus community.
Corey King
