Message from Vice Chancellor Fillhouer
Dear campus community,
As we head into the final weeks of the spring semester, we wanted to remind you of the services and resources available to navigate stress, anxiety and other mental health challenges.
Here at UW-Whitewater, we are thankful to have free resources for our students, employees, and the community. There is a personalized portal for wellness available to all, but especially geared towards students, and the Navigate app has a way for students to access mental health services and information.
Students can engage with free wellness services at University Health and Counseling Services to enhance all dimensions of wellness and support their academic success.
We remain fully committed to meeting the needs of our university while continuing to expand and enhance our offerings. The Chancellor’s Committee on Mental Health is actively addressing the campus needs assessment, which was completed in collaboration with the Jed Foundation. Key priorities include increasing access to on-campus mental health resources, maintaining availability of on-demand services, and embedding mental health support throughout all areas of the campus community.
Remember that mental health issues can be serious. Always seek help from your physician or a professional if necessary. Here are some early warning signs. If you or someone you know is experiencing a mental health crisis, here is information to get help right away.
Thank you,
Kristin Fillhouer
Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs
