Resources for Digital Accessibility
Dear UWW Faculty and Instructional Academic Staff,
As Warhawks, we are committed to supporting all students, including those with disabilities. By ensuring our digital content is accessible, we champion education and opportunity for everyone.
The federal government recently updated the Americans with Disabilities Act to include new digital accessibility standards. This includes course materials such as Canvas pages, instructional videos, linked websites, course PDFs, and other digital classroom elements. More information can be found on the ADA.gov Fact Sheet.
To align with these standards and our mission, please ensure your course materials meet digital accessibility standards by Spring 2026. Our recently rebranded LTC and LEARN Center, now the Center for the Advancement of Teaching, Learning, Scholarship, and Technology (CATLST) has extensive resources to assist including breaking down the work into six simple strategies.
Look for these additional opportunities as well:
-
UWW Digital Accessibility Training Canvas Course: Self-enroll at any time.
-
Celebrating Teaching and Learning Conference: On May 21, featuring an interactive panel session on digital accessibility.
By embracing these practices, we uphold our commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive educational environment for all students.
