Free Ai course for any UW-Whitewater staff or faculty member
Dear UW-Whitewater faculty and staff:
For some of you today is the last day on contract and for others, the whirl of summer (SOAR, camps, summer school, continuing year-round services) is just beginning. As you plan your summer, I hope you will consider taking advantage of a professional development opportunity that the provost's office is funding for any UWW employee interested. AI is here, and it is critical that we are all aware of the possibilities, the ethical use and protection of our campus community when using AI.
The class is through Auburn University (Course Information). Some individuals from UW-Whitewater have already piloted the course and found it to be high quality and meaningful. This opportunity is available now for those who are interested in taking the course this summer and it will also be available in the fall (an additional email will be sent out with information once 9-month contracts start in the fall).
Link to get started with registration: AI Auburn Class. CATLST will be assisting with signing up for the course.
I, along with all other cabinet members, will be completing this course over the summer.
The UW-Whitewater AI Committee led by Dana Wagner and Yamin Ahmad will continue to meet over the summer. I thank them for their leadership and their continued work to move UW-Whitewater into a position of leadership in the AI space through training, curriculum, accessibility and ethical use of this powerful tool.
Wishing you all a safe and relaxing long weekend,
Robin Fox
Interim Provost & Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs
