Summer facility and parking updates

Dear UW-Whitewater community,

With summer camps, special events, SOAR, and other activities on the horizon, we’d like to provide you updates regarding construction within facilities and parking lots on the Whitewater campus.

Williams Center

• Parking lot 11 on the north side of the Williams Center will be undergoing reconstruction for the summer. To access the facility, park in lot 24 (Perkins Stadium) or lot 9 (near the outdoor sand volleyball court) and enter through door #16 — the south entrance near the tennis courts — or through door #2 on the north side of the complex by the recreation sports office.

• Kachel Gymnasium, located on the second floor of the Williams Center, will be offline for the summer as the ceiling is being replaced in the gym.

Starin Road

• Starin Road will be closed starting Monday, June 9, to install new steam and condensate piping. See the attached PDF for reference and location. Barring inclement weather or other challenges that could cause delays, the road is expected to be passable — with some partial closes for restoration — starting Wednesday, June 18.

SOAR parking

• Parking lots 4 and 14 will be used primarily for SOAR parking this summer due to the construction around lots 7 and 9. Faculty and staff who park in those lots should plan to use an alternate lot on the following dates:

• June 2

• June 4

• June 9

• June 11

• June 13

• June 17

• June 19

• June 24

• June 26

• July 30

• Children’s Center dropoff and pickup will not be disrupted and can continue in lots 13 and 14.
