Invitation – Chancellor’s Opening Celebration

Please join us for the annual Chancellor's Opening Celebration at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, August 25, in the James R. Connor University Center Hamilton Room. Following the program, we invite you to a campus cookout in The Eatery, located in Esker Hall.

As we prepare for another exciting academic year, this is an opportunity to come together as one Warhawk community to celebrate our accomplishments, recognize the outstanding people who make our university exceptional, and look ahead to the opportunities before us.

During the celebration, we will:

• Recognize our most recent University Award recipients.

• Celebrate the members of the Chancellor's Cabinet, Shared Governance leadership, and the chairs and co-chairs of the Chancellor's Committees.

• Officially welcome Pieter deHart, our new Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, to the Warhawk family.

• Premiere a special video commemorating 60 years of success at the UW–Whitewater at Rock County (URock) campus.

We will also share important university updates, including our institutional priorities, campus investments, enrollment and retention progress, and our financial outlook. In addition, we will discuss our continued work to advance student success, the One Stop initiative, and the thoughtful integration of artificial intelligence across the university.

One of the highlights of the program will be hearing directly from our students as they join us on stage to share their experiences and what makes UW–Whitewater such a special place to learn, grow, and belong.

Employee Appreciation. In appreciation of our dedicated faculty and staff, the UW-Whitewater Bookstore is hosting a “Double Staff Discount Day” on Wednesday, Aug. 26. All Warhawk apparel and gift items — including those with the new athletics lettermark — will be 30% off for employees on that date instead of the usual 15%. The discount is available in store and online (using code UWWSTAFF).
