United Way Campaign Update and 5K Run/Walk
Just a brief update on the progress of our 2017 United Way campaign – we have raised $2,718 of our $12,000 goal. Many thanks to those who have already donated! I would also like to invite everyone to participate in our Halloween-themed 5K Run/Walk on Oct. 22 (registration available at http://bit.ly/NOM1022) – it is open to the public and costumes are encouraged! Your donations support local organizations that improve quality of life for the entire community through focus on impact areas such as early childhood education, mental health and AODA treatment, and skills training and job readiness. Completed forms can be sent to me at CoBE Business Outreach Services, Hyland 4300J. All new contributors who submit their completed pledge forms for $40 or more, or renewing contributors who increase their 2016 gift by $40 or more, will have their names entered into a drawing for a free parking permit for July 1, 2018 – June 30, 2019 and into a drawing for a pass to the Williams Center. All contributors will receive a Live United t-shirt with the UW-Whitewater logo on the sleeve to wear on Whitewater’s Live United Day, Oct. 20. In addition, any new gift of at least $25, or a gift that has increased from the 2016 campaign by at least $25, automatically enters you into the technology drawing. Four entries will be drawn for one of four prizes: a laptop, an iPad, a high definition TV, and a Kindle Fire.
5K Run/Walk “Nightmare on Main Street”
First Citizens State Bank, The SweetSpot, The Black Sheep, and the Whitewater University Technology Park Innovation Center are kindly co-sponsoring our Halloween-themed 5K Run/Walk “Nightmare on Main Street” to raise funds for the United Way of Jefferson and North Walworth Counties. The event will be held on Sunday, Oct. 22. Check-in begins at 11:30 a.m. at the Alumni Center; the run/walk starts at noon. Registration fees are $30 for faculty, staff, and the public, $25 for students, and $10 for children. Participants are encouraged to wear costumes (just make sure they are suitable for running/walking). Prizes include three $25 gift cards from The SweetSpot, a $100 gift card from The Black Sheep, and a Green Bay Packers football with the signatures of the 2016 Packers team. Register online >>
