Message from Chancellor Kopper regarding Board of Regents vote
Dear Campus Colleagues,
Today’s vote by the UW System Board of Regents approves the July 1, 2018 transition of the UW Colleges and Extension to the receiving campuses. The restructuring plan has UW-Rock County joining UW-Whitewater. I hope you feel as excited as I do about the many positive opportunities this change will bring to the UW-Whitewater and the Rock County communities. I truly believe we will all be even better together.
Tomorrow, Friday, Nov. 10, a number of our campus officials, including myself and governance leaders, will visit UW-Rock County to begin the process of getting acquainted with faculty, staff, and students. UW Colleges and Extension Chancellor Cathy Sandeen will join us.
We understand there are many questions and concerns regarding this transition, and we are committed to making this change as seamless as possible. We have established the TAG Team (Transition Advisory Group), and members of the UW-Rock County community will be joining us on the team very soon. Provost Susan Elrod will represent us on the UW System Restructuring Steering Committee. She and Interim Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Brent Bilodeau are currently co-chairing the TAG Team.
We will make this transition in true Warhawk fashion with respect for shared governance and by involving all constituents. Our values and student-centered mission will guide us through this process.
This is an exciting new milestone in the history of our campuses. Please join me in warmly welcoming our new colleagues.
