The Chancellor’s Office has received word that Thomas R. Wilcox, 79, of Edgerton, died on Thursday, Jan. 31, with his family at his side. Tom was an Assistant Professor at the University of Whitewater from September of 1966 until his retirement in May of 1993.
Tom loved the outdoors. He was an avid skier and a ski instructor at Alpine Valley for a number of years. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Edgerton Conservation Club and Ducks Unlimited. Tom had been a volunteer for the Edgerton Fire Department, and he also played for the Albion Tigers.
A gathering and celebration of Tom's life will be held on Saturday, Feb. 9, at the Ehlert Funeral Home, Edgerton, from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. Full Military services by the Edgerton Memorial Squad will be held at the funeral home at 4 p.m. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials may be made to Agrace HospiceCare Inc., Edgerton Conservation Club, or the Edgerton Volunteer Fire Department in Tom's name.
The Campus Flag will be lowered to half-staff on Saturday, Feb. 9, in his honor.
