The Chancellor’s Office has received word that Forrest W. Perkins, 94, of Whitewater, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 13, at Hearthstone in Whitewater. Forrest came to UW-Whitewater in August of 1956 as an associate professor and football coach. Forrest also held the position of director of Warhawk Stadium and athletic director prior to retiring in December of 1985. A celebration of life will take place Sunday, Dec. 21, in the Hamilton Room of the James R. Connor University Center. Visitation will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., followed by a memorial service beginning at 4 p.m. Refreshments will be served on site following the service.
A private interment will be at the Calvary Cemetery in Whitewater. The Nitardy Funeral Home in Whitewater is assisting the family.
Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a memorial to The Warhawk Football Endowment.
The campus flag will be lowered to half-staff on Sunday, Dec. 21, in his honor.
