Ron came to UW-Whitewater in September 1966 and was a professor in the Department of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Coaching until his retirement in January 1995. While at UW-Whitewater he also established the well-regarded Warhawk Tennis Camps and was inducted into the UW-Whitewater Athletic Hall of Fame in 2002. Ron coached both the men’s and women’s tennis programs at UW-Whitewater and earned 48 conference championships during his career.
Visitation will be held at Nitardy Funeral Home in Fort Atkinson on Sunday, April 26, from 4 to 7 p.m.
A commemorative mass will be held at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Fort Atkinson at noon on Monday, April 27. The family will receive visitors from 11 a.m. to noon, prior to the service.
Those who wish to express their sympathy may wish to consider contributing to the “UW-W Foundation-Indoor Tennis” project or by a memorial gift to St. Peter’s Episcopal Church.
The campus flag will be lowered to half-staff on Monday, April 27, in his honor.
