Dear Campus Community,
Last week we made the announcement that we will return to campus in the fall with our residence halls open and classes held in-person where possible.
There have been many questions about how all of that will be accomplished. While there is much work to do to finalize details, a group of your colleagues have been working tirelessly through the Emergency Operations Center (EOC). They have developed a plan called Warhawk Ready Plan and it contains information about how various areas will operate. As I have said, there are still details to be decided, but this document will help you understand the level of thought and work that has gone into this process.
I’d like to thank all of the members of the EOC, but especially Chief Matt Kiederlen, who had been leading the group.
Any recommendations from the EOC are sent to the Cabinet for approval or adjustments. We will continue to operate in this fashion as we continue to develop our plans. Many committees and subcommittees are working across the campuses to perform this critical work. While I call special attention to the EOC, please understand that the leadership team at UW-Whitewater and I appreciate everyone’s contributions to this vital work.
Some of the questions submitted for next Thursday’s WebEx Event town hall meeting are covered in the Warhawk Ready Plan. As a reminder, that town hall will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 11. Links for that meeting, which will be recorded, are available below.
While the committee has done tremendous work on the Warhawk Ready Plan, we now need your input to keep moving the plan forward. If you have any questions, suggestions, or concerns, please share them with Chief Kiederlen at kiederlm@uww.edu
Sincerely,
Dr. Dwight C. Watson
Chancellor
