UW System President listening sessions at UW-Whitewater
Dear UW-Whitewater students, faculty and staff,
The University of Wisconsin System has recently launched a search for the next president of UW System. It is one of the most important decisions facing us at this time, and it will potentially impact the people and state of Wisconsin for years to come.
Your voice, your ideas, and your input are extremely valuable during the search process, and I strongly encourage you to participate in the upcoming presidential search listening session being hosted at UW-Whitewater on Friday, Sept. 24.
Karen Walsh, vice president of the Board of Regents and chair of the search committee, has made it very clear that your insights and opinions on this search are welcome – and they matter. She and other committee members really want to know what’s on your mind.
Your involvement is important – and it’s personal. Our next leader will represent our university communities all around the state – and that includes UW System’s 165,000 students and nearly 40,000 faculty and staff.
The next president will help shape our strategic plan going forward, championing and amplifying what we do and who we are – now and into the future.
Through the end of September, there will be listening sessions at all 13 universities, as well as meetings with UW System governance groups and System administration. It’s your time to be heard.
You can participate in the Friday, Sept. 24 event in person or online:
- UW-Whitewater, Hyland Hall, room 2203 – Baker Tilly Lecture Hall
- Register for the Webex Videoconference
9 – 9:50 a.m. – Session for Faculty/Students
10 – 10:50 a.m. – Session for University Staff/Academic Staff
All members of campus are welcome to attend either session.
For those who are unable to attend at UW-Whitewater, you are invited to participate in a session hosted by another UW System university. As arrangements are finalized, access information will be available on the UW System website.
Given the many challenges of recent years, it’s more important than ever that the UW System’s new president be an energetic, imaginative, visionary leader who can help us live up to the Wisconsin Idea and find solutions to state’s biggest problems.
Please get involved. It’s important for all of us.
Thank you,
Jim Henderson, Ph.D.
UW-Whitewater Interim Chancellor
