Hate/Bias protocols and procedures
UW-Whitewater is committed to an affirmative and inclusive campus community. As part of this commitment, Kenny Yarbrough, Associate Vice Chancellor of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Support Programs has led the efforts to update the Hate/Bias protocols and procedures and develop a website for reporting such incidents that is available to our campus and the greater Whitewater community. The website can be found at: uww.edu/division-of-equity-diversity-inclusion-and-support-programs/hate-bias-reporting.
As an institution, we are committed to cultivating and sustaining a healthy and vibrant campus community that seeks to lessen incidents of hate/bias. Dr. Yarbrough will re-establish and chair the Hate/Bias committee which will be made up of campus wide representatives. This committee will track trends, maintain the website with updated data, and develop campus programs and trainings to increase our ability to prevent such incidents, address them when they happen, and spread awareness.
As Dr. Yarbrough leads our campus community in building a culture that reports incidents and provides support for students and employees, let’s work together to maintain a living, learning, and working environment that is free from bias and hate. Individuals who have experienced or observed incidents of hate/bias are encouraged to complete the reporting form.
This is one more way in which we can demonstrate our commitment to each other and to maintaining a mutually supportive community.
